Zo coacht u: samen categorie en regel oefenen

Uw kind oefende vandaag in tweetallen met de regels: de een zegt de categorienaam, de ander de regel, en samen bedenken ze een woord erbij. Zo doen alle kinderen mee. Daarna schreef uw kind een dictee en zocht het in een zin de persoonsvorm en het onderwerp.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. De een zegt de categorienaam, de ander noemt de regel die erbij hoort.

  2. Bedenk allebei een woord erbij en controleer het.
    VraagWelk woord past erbij? Hoe controleer je dat?
  3. Een samenstelling? Zeg per deel de categorie en schrijf er een sterretje voor.
    VraagUit welke twee woorden bestaat het? Welke categorie heeft elk deel?
  4. Zin: de persoonsvorm met de vraagproef of de tijdproef, het onderwerp met wie of wat + de persoonsvorm.

Samen oefenen aan tafel

  1. Maatjesspel: u zegt een categorie (taxiwoord, chefwoord, theewoord, woord van het gids-rijtje), uw kind noemt de regel en bedenkt een woord. Wissel af.Vraag: hoe controleer je het woord?
  2. Lees voor: de thermoskan · de havenloods · de theedoek. Uw kind zegt per deel de categorie en schrijft het woord met een sterretje.Vraag: uit welke twee woorden bestaat het?
  3. Lees voor: ‘Heeft de buurvrouw haar fiets gerepareerd?’ Zoek de persoonsvorm en het onderwerp.Zeg de zin in een andere tijd: welk woord verandert?
  4. Uit het dagelijks leven: zoek in de keuken drie samenstellingen en zeg bij elk deel de categorie.Vraag: uit welke twee woorden bestaat het?

Tip van de juf

  • Zo oefenen alle kinderen mee, ook de sterke spellers: ook wie het woord goed schrijft, moet de regel kunnen zeggen.
  • Een samenstelling krijgt een sterretje ervoor, en elk deel heeft zijn eigen categorie.

How you coach: practising category and rule together

Today your child practised the rules in pairs: one says the category name, the other the rule, and together they think of a word for it. That way all the children take part. Then your child wrote a dictation and found the persoonsvorm (finite verb) and the onderwerp (subject) in a sentence.

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. One says the category name, the other says the rule that goes with it.

  2. Both think of a word for it and check it.
    AskWhich word fits? How do you check that?
  3. A samenstelling (compound word)? Say the category for each part and put a star in front of it.
    AskWhich two words is it made of? Which category does each part have?
  4. Sentence: the finite verb with the vraagproef (question test) or the tijdproef (tense test), the subject with wie of wat (who or what) + the finite verb.

Practise together at the table

  1. Partner game: you say a category (taxiwoord, chefwoord, theewoord, woord van het gids-rijtje), your child says the rule and thinks of a word. Take turns.Ask: how do you check the word?
  2. Read aloud: de thermoskan · de havenloods · de theedoek. Your child says the category for each part and writes the word with a star.Ask: which two words is it made of?
  3. Read aloud: ‘Heeft de buurvrouw haar fiets gerepareerd?’ Find the finite verb and the subject.Say the sentence in a different tense: which word changes?
  4. From daily life: find three compound words in the kitchen (in Dutch) and say the category for each part.Ask: which two words is it made of?

  • That way all the children practise, including the strong spellers: even if you write the word correctly, you must be able to say the rule.
  • A compound word gets a star in front of it, and each part has its own category.
