Zo coacht u: categorie en regel in tweetallen

Uw kind oefende vandaag met een maatje: de een zegt een categorienaam (zoals colawoord of kilowoord), de ander noemt de regel, en allebei bedenken ze een woord erbij. Ook herhaalde uw kind het verkleinwoord met /utju/ en het luchtwoord, en zocht het in een zin het voorzetsel.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. Eén zegt de categorienaam, de ander noemt de regel. Allebei bedenken een woord erbij. Wissel dan om.
    VraagWat is de regel van deze categorie? Welk woord bedenk je erbij?
  2. Leg je vinger steeds op de categorie. Denk aan de regel. Schrijf het woord op. Zet een sterretje voor een samenstelling.

  3. Verkleinwoord met /utju/: korte klank, dan de medeklinker dubbel, dan -etje. Luchtwoord: korte klank + cht met de ch van lucht.

  4. Zin: zoek het voorzetsel (vz) en schrijf vz eronder.

  • Hoort u een woord dat niet klopt? Laat uw kind het zelf controleren met de regel.

How you coach: category and rule in pairs

Today your child practised with a partner: one says a category name (such as colawoord or kilowoord), the other says the rule, and both think of a word for it. Your child also revised the verkleinwoord met /utju/ (diminutive with -etje) and the luchtwoord (cht word), and found the voorzetsel (preposition) in a sentence.

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. One says the category name, the other says the rule. Both think of a word for it. Then swap.
    AskWhat is the rule of this category? Which word do you think of?
  2. Put your finger on the category each time. Think of the rule. Write the word down. Put a star in front of a samenstelling (compound word).
    AskWhich category is this? What is the rule?
  3. Diminutive with /utju/: short sound, then the consonant twice, then -etje. Cht word: short sound + cht with the ch of lucht.
    AskIs it a diminutive with /utju/ or a cht word? What do you write then?
  4. Sentence: find the preposition (vz) and write vz underneath.
