Zo coacht u: het stappenplan 'Litermaten omzetten met het omrekenschema' van school

Uw kind leerde vandaag alle litermaten in elkaar omzetten met het omrekenschema l · dl · cl · ml. Elke sprong naar rechts is × 10, elke sprong naar links is : 10. Zo is 3 dl gelijk aan 300 ml (twee sprongen naar rechts). Het schema werkt net als bij m · dm · cm · mm.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. Schrijf het omrekenschema op: l · dl · cl · ml.
    VraagKun je het schema opschrijven, in de goede volgorde?
  2. Zet je vinger op de maat waar je begint. Tel de sprongen naar de maat die je zoekt.
    VraagOp welke maat begin je? Hoeveel sprongen is het naar de andere maat?
  3. Spring je naar rechts? Elke sprong × 10. Spring je naar links? Elke sprong : 10.
    VraagNaar rechts of naar links? Dus keer 10 of delen door 10, en hoe vaak?
  4. Controleer: naar een kleinere maat → een groter getal. Naar een grotere maat → een kleiner getal.
    VraagIs je getal groter of kleiner geworden? Klopt dat met de maat?

Samen oefenen aan tafel

  1. 8 cl = ... mlVraag: waar zet je je vinger? Hoeveel sprongen, naar welke kant?
  2. 70 dl = ... lVraag: gaat het getal groter of kleiner worden? Waarom?
  3. 1500 ml = ... dlVraag: teken de boogjes. Hoeveel sprongen zijn het?
  4. Uit het dagelijks leven: op een blikje frisdrank staat 33 cl. Hoeveel ml is dat?Vraag: welke maat heb je, en welke zoek je? Welke kant op?

Tip van de juf

  • Dé fout van vandaag: altijd × 10 doen, of een sprong te veel of te weinig tellen. Vraag: 'Wordt de maat groter of kleiner? Wat moet er dan met het getal gebeuren?' Een grotere maat geeft een kleiner getal.
  • Laat uw kind het schema opschrijven en de sprongen echt als boogjes tekenen. Wie gokt, maakt sneller een fout.

How you coach: the school's plan 'Litermaten omzetten met het omrekenschema'

Today your child learned to convert all units of liquid volume into each other with the conversion chart (omrekenschema) l · dl · cl · ml (litre, decilitre, centilitre, millilitre). Each jump to the right is × 10, each jump to the left is : 10 (: means 'divided by'). So 3 dl is the same as 300 ml (two jumps to the right). The chart works just like m · dm · cm · mm.

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. Write down the conversion chart: l · dl · cl · ml.
    AskCan you write down the chart, in the right order?
  2. Put your finger on the unit where you start. Count the jumps to the unit you are looking for.
    AskWhich unit do you start at? How many jumps is it to the other unit?
  3. Do you jump to the right? Each jump × 10. Do you jump to the left? Each jump : 10.
    AskTo the right or to the left? So times 10 or divided by 10, and how many times?
  4. Check: to a smaller unit → a bigger number. To a bigger unit → a smaller number.
    AskHas your number become bigger or smaller? Does that fit with the unit?

How did it go?

Tip from the teacher

  • The typical mistake: always doing × 10, or counting one jump too many or too few. Ask: 'Does the unit get bigger or smaller? So what has to happen to the number?' A bigger unit gives a smaller number.
  • Let your child write down the chart and really draw the jumps as little arcs. Guessing leads to mistakes more quickly.
