Delen onder elkaar: past niet, en de 0 in het antwoord

Uw kind leerde vandaag twee lastige gevallen van de staartdeling. Past de deler niet in het eerste cijfer (4 past niet in de 2 van 256), dan neemt het de eerste twee cijfers samen. En past de deler ergens niet in, dan schrijft het een 0 in het antwoord: 624 : 6 = 104.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.

  2. Schat: hoe vaak past de deler? Schrijf dat cijfer rechts, in het antwoord.

  4. Laat het volgende cijfer zakken langs de stippellijn.

  5. Herhaal stap 2 tot en met 4 tot alle cijfers gezakt zijn. De laatste rest is 0.

  6. Controleer met schatten: 6 × 100 = 600 en 6 × 200 = 1200, dus 744 : 6 ligt tussen 100 en 200.

  4. Uit het dagelijks leven: een zaal heeft 504 stoelen. Ze staan in 6 gelijke rijen. Hoeveel stoelen staan er in elke rij?Vraag: wat is je som? Hoeveel cijfers krijgt het antwoord?

Tip van de juf

  • Dé fout van vandaag: de 0 in het antwoord vergeten, zodat 103 verandert in 13. Schatten vangt dit altijd: bij 618 : 6 is 6 × 100 = 600, dus een antwoord van twee cijfers kan niet. Laat uw kind vóór elke som zeggen hoeveel cijfers het antwoord krijgt.
  • Past de deler ergens niet, laat uw kind dan hardop zeggen: '0 keer, dus een 0 in het antwoord'. Past hij niet in het eerste cijfer, dan neemt het de eerste twee cijfers samen en schrijft het geen 0 vooraan.
  • Bij verhaaltjes gebruikt de klas altijd het 5-stappenplan: lees 2 keer · wat weet ik, wat is de vraag? · schrijf de som op · reken uit · controleer + eenheid. Hier is 'reken uit' de staartdeling.

Dividing under each other: does not fit, and the 0 in the answer

How you coach: the school's plan 'Dividing under each other (staartdeling)'

Today your child learned two tricky cases of long division (staartdeling; : means 'divided by'). If the divisor does not fit into the first digit (4 does not fit into the 2 of 256), your child takes the first two digits together. And if the divisor does not fit somewhere, your child writes a 0 in the answer: 624 : 6 = 104.

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. Write down the sum: the divisor (deler) in front, slanted lines, the big number in between. 6 / 744 \

  2. Estimate: how many times does the divisor fit? Write that digit on the right, in the answer.
    AskHow many times does the divisor fit into the first digit? Where do you write that down?
  3. Multiply and subtract.

  4. Let the next digit drop down along the dotted line.
    AskWhich digit drops down? Which number is there now?
  5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 until all digits have dropped down. The last remainder is 0.

  6. Check by estimating: 6 × 100 = 600 and 6 × 200 = 1200, so 744 : 6 is between 100 and 200.

How did it go?

Tip from the teacher

  • The typical mistake: forgetting the 0 in the answer, so that 103 becomes 13. Estimating always catches this: for 618 : 6, 6 × 100 = 600, so an answer with two digits is not possible. Let your child say before each sum how many digits the answer will have.
  • If the divisor does not fit somewhere, let your child say aloud: '0 times, so a 0 in the answer'. If it does not fit into the first digit, your child takes the first two digits together and does not write a 0 at the front.
  • For story sums the class always uses the 5-step plan (5-stappenplan): read it 2 times · what do I know, what is the question? · write down the sum · work it out · check + unit. Here 'work it out' is the long division.
