Zo coacht u: categorie en regel in tweetallen

Vandaag herhaalde uw kind de categorieën in tweetallen: het ene kind zegt de naam van de categorie, het andere noemt de regel. Allebei bedachten ze er een woord bij.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. U zegt de naam van een categorie, bijvoorbeeld apostrof-s-meervoud, apostrof-s bij bezit, verkleinwoord of tremawoord.

  2. Uw kind zegt de regel. Samen bedenken jullie een woord erbij en schrijven het op.

  3. Controleer het woord met de regel. Zeg de categorie en de regel in klanknamen. Een samenstelling? Een sterretje ervoor.

  4. Wissel om: nu zegt uw kind de naam van de categorie en noemt u de regel.

Samen oefenen aan tafel

  1. Tweetallenspel: u noemt een categorie, uw kind zegt de regel. Allebei schrijven jullie er een woord bij. Wissel daarna om.Vraag: kun je er nog een woord bij bedenken?
  2. Lees elk woord één keer voor; uw kind zegt het na en schrijft het op: de salto’s · oma’s pet · het saunaatje · Tunesië.Vraag: welke categorie herken je? Wat is de regel?
  3. Lees voor: ‘De tuinman snoeit de rozen.’ Uw kind zoekt de persoonsvorm en het onderwerp.Vraag voor het onderwerp: wie of wat + de persoonsvorm?
  4. Lees voor: ‘Mijn oom woont in een stenen huis.’ Welk woord zegt van welke stof het huis is? Zeg de woordsoort.Vraag: wat is dit voor soort bijvoeglijk naamwoord?

  • Laat uw kind de woorden zelf bedenken en met de regel controleren.
  • Gebruik thuis dezelfde woorden en regels als op school: andere oefeningen, ook van internet, kunnen verwarring geven.

Revision: the categories in pairs

How you coach: category and rule in pairs

Today your child revised the categories in pairs: one child says the name of the category, the other says the rule. Both thought of a word to go with it.

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. You say the name of a category, for example apostrof-s-meervoud (plural with apostrophe + s), apostrof-s bij bezit (apostrophe + s for ownership), verkleinwoord (diminutive) or tremawoord (word with a trema).

  2. Your child says the rule. Together you think of a word for it and write it down.

  3. Check the word with the rule. Say the category and the rule using letter sounds. A samenstelling (compound word)? A star in front of it.

  4. Swap: now your child says the name of the category and you say the rule.

Practise together at the table

  1. Pairs game: you name a category, your child says the rule. You both write a word for it. Then swap.Ask: can you think of another word for it?
  2. Read each word aloud once; your child says it back and writes it down: de salto’s · oma’s pet · het saunaatje · Tunesië.Ask: which category do you recognise? What is the rule?
  3. Read aloud: ‘De tuinman snoeit de rozen.’ Your child finds the persoonsvorm (finite verb) and the onderwerp (subject).Ask for the subject: who or what + the finite verb?
  4. Read aloud: ‘Mijn oom woont in een stenen huis.’ Which word tells you what material the house is made of? Say the word class.Ask: what kind of adjective is this?

  • Let your child think of the words and check them with the rule.
  • Use the same words and rules as at school: other exercises, also from the internet, can be confusing.
