Zo coacht u: oefenen voor de toets

In de toets van blok 7 maakt uw kind een toetsdictee (zonder categoriekaart), een werkwoordtoets en een grammaticatoets. Er komt niets nieuws: het gaat om alle categorieën, werkwoorden, woordsoorten en zinsdelen die uw kind tot nu toe geleerd heeft.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. Kijk eerst welke categorie of regel nog niet vanzelf gaat. Begin daar.

  2. Oefen zonder categoriekaart en zonder categorienummers: eerst de regel in je hoofd, dan schrijven. Een samenstelling: sterretje ervoor.

  3. Een werkwoord? Eerst: is het een persoonsvorm? Dan de werkwoordregel: Persoonsvorm in de tegenwoordige tijd: ik-vorm+t, behalve bij ik en als jij of je erachter staat.

  4. Grammatica: de woordsoorten en de zinsdelen.

Samen oefenen aan tafel

  1. Categoriespel: schrijf apostrof-s-meervoud, verkleinwoord en tremawoord op briefjes. Uw kind trekt er een, zegt de regel en bedenkt een woord.Vraag: hoe weet je dat het klopt?
  2. Oefendictee zonder boek, elk woord één keer: de bikini’s · mama’s tuin · het kassaatje · de pinguïn.Vraag: welke categorie herken je?
  3. Werkwoorden: u zegt het werkwoord (kleuren · bellen · fietsen); uw kind schrijft ik … en jij hebt …Vraag: wat is de werkwoordregel?
  4. Lees voor: ‘De negende bezoeker koopt twee kaartjes.’ Uw kind zoekt de woordsoorten, de pv en het onderwerp.Vraag: welk woord noemt de volgorde? Welk woord de hoeveelheid?

  • Vraag na de toets niet naar goede of foute antwoorden, maar: waar wil jij nog extra mee oefenen? Zo doet de juf het ook.

How you coach: practising for the test

In the block 7 test your child does a dictation test (without the categoriekaart, category card), a verb test and a grammar test. Nothing new comes up: it is about all the categories, verbs, word classes and parts of the sentence your child has learned so far.

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. First see which category or rule is not automatic yet. Start there.
    AskWhich category or rule do you find difficult?
  2. Practise without the category card and without category numbers: first the rule in your head, then write. A samenstelling (compound word): a star in front of it.
    AskWhich category is this? What is the rule?
  3. A verb? First: is it the persoonsvorm (finite verb)? Then the verb rule: Persoonsvorm in de tegenwoordige tijd: ik-vorm+t, behalve bij ik en als jij of je erachter staat. (Finite verb in the present tense: the ‘I’ form + t, except with ik and when jij or je comes after it.)
    AskIs it the finite verb? What is the ik-vorm (the ‘I’ form)?
  4. Grammar: the word classes and the parts of the sentence.
    AskWhich word class is this word? What is the persoonsvorm?

Practise together at the table

  1. Category game: write apostrof-s-meervoud (plural with apostrophe + s), verkleinwoord (diminutive) and tremawoord (word with a trema) on slips of paper. Your child draws one, says the rule and thinks of a word.Ask: how do you know it is right?
  2. Practice dictation without the book, each word once: de bikini’s · mama’s tuin · het kassaatje · de pinguïn.Ask: which category do you recognise?
  3. Verbs: you say the verb (kleuren · bellen · fietsen); your child writes ik … and jij hebt …Ask: what is the verb rule?
  4. Read aloud: ‘De negende bezoeker koopt twee kaartjes.’ Your child finds the word classes, the pv and the onderwerp (subject).Ask: which word gives the order? Which word gives the amount?
