Uw kind oefende vandaag opnieuw het verkleinwoord met -aatje, -ootje of -uutje met nieuwe woorden. Het dictee maakte uw kind zonder categoriekaart en met het staalboek dicht: de regel moet in het hoofd zitten. Bij elk woord zegt uw kind de regel: Verkleinwoord met -aatje, -ootje of -uutje.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. Luister naar het woord en zeg het na.
    VraagWelk woord hoorde je? Zeg het nog eens.
  2. Denk in je hoofd aan de categorie en de regel. Er ligt geen categoriekaart en het staalboek is dicht.

  3. Verwoord het woord van links naar rechts. Wacht voor aatje, ootje of uutje, zeg de regel en schrijf dan verder.

  4. Schrijf het woord op, zonder categorienummer. Een samenstelling krijgt een sterretje ervoor.

Samen oefenen aan tafel

  1. Lees elk woord één keer voor, zonder boek: het kassaatje · het pindaatje · het iglootje.Vraag: welke categorie zit in het woord? Wat komt daarna?
  2. Zeg: ‘de sauna → het …?’ Uw kind schrijft het verkleinwoord op en zegt de regel. Doe hetzelfde met: het logo · het schema.Vraag: aatje, ootje of uutje? Hoe weet je dat?
  3. Lees voor: ‘De zilveren lepel ligt in de la.’ Uw kind zet onder elk woord de woordsoort: lw, znw, ww, vz of sbnw.Vraag: van welke stof is de lepel?
  4. Uit het dagelijks leven: uw kind bedenkt een zin met een verkleinwoord van deze les en schrijft hem op, met hoofdletter en punt.Vraag: welke regel hoort bij dit woord?

Tip van de juf

  • Veelgemaakte fout: aatje, ootje of uutje missen of er een andere spelling van maken, bijvoorbeeld met één a of met een apostrof. Zeg de regel dan nog eens.
  • Zonder categoriekaart: laat uw kind eerst de regel in zijn hoofd zeggen en dan pas schrijven. Zeg niet voor welke categorie het is.

How you coach: the dictation without the category card

Today your child practised the verkleinwoord (diminutive) with -aatje, -ootje or -uutje again, with new words. Your child did the dictation without the categoriekaart (category card) and with the staalboek (Staal book) closed: the rule has to be in their head. With every word your child says the rule: Verkleinwoord met -aatje, -ootje of -uutje. (Diminutive with -aatje, -ootje or -uutje.)

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. Listen to the word and say it back.
    AskWhich word did you hear? Say it again.
  2. Think of the category and the rule in your head. There is no category card and the Staal book is closed.
    AskWhich category is this? What is the rule?
  3. Talk the word through from left to right. Stop before aatje, ootje or uutje, say the rule and then carry on writing.

  4. Write the word down, without a category number. A samenstelling (compound word) gets a star in front of it.

Tip from the teacher

  • Common mistake: missing aatje, ootje or uutje, or spelling it differently, for example with one a or with an apostrophe. Then say the rule again.
  • Without the category card: let your child first say the rule in their head, and only then write. Do not say which category it is.
