Zo coacht u: oefenen voor de toets

In de toets van blok 5 maakt uw kind een toetsdictee (zonder categoriekaart), een werkwoordtoets en een grammaticatoets. Er komt niets nieuws: het gaat om de categorieën (zoals het caféwoord, het cadeauwoord en het stoffelijk bijvoeglijk naamwoord met -en), de werkwoorden, de woordsoorten en de zinsdelen. Op deze kaart staan geen toetswoorden.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. Kijk eerst welke categorie of regel nog niet vanzelf gaat. Begin daar.

  2. Oefen zonder categoriekaart en zonder categorienummers: eerst de regel in je hoofd, dan schrijven.

  3. Een werkwoord? Eerst: is het een persoonsvorm? Dan de werkwoordregel: Persoonsvorm in de tegenwoordige tijd: ik-vorm+t, behalve bij ik en als jij of je erachter staat.

  4. Grammatica: de woordsoorten en de zinsdelen (persoonsvorm, werkwoordelijk gezegde, onderwerp).

  5. Lees je woorden na en kijk of alles is ingevuld.

Samen oefenen aan tafel

  1. Categoriespel: schrijf caféwoord, cadeauwoord, stoffelijk bijvoeglijk naamwoord, theewoord en taxiwoord op briefjes. Uw kind trekt een briefje, zegt de regel en bedenkt een woord.Vraag: hoe controleer je het woord?
  2. Oefendictee zonder boek; lees elk woord één keer voor: de taugé · het niveau · de zilveren beker · de muntthee.Vraag: welke categorie(ën) zitten erin?
  3. Werkwoordenrij: u zegt het werkwoord (beloven · verbeteren · ontvangen), uw kind schrijft ik … · hij … · … jij?Vraag: wat is de ik-vorm?
  4. Lees voor: ‘De schilder zet een metalen ladder tegen de muur.’ Uw kind zoekt het stoffelijk bijvoeglijk naamwoord, de persoonsvorm en het onderwerp.Vraag: van welk materiaal is het?

Tip van de juf

  • Vraag na de toets niet naar goede of foute antwoorden. Vraag liever: waar wil jij nog extra mee oefenen? Zo doet de juf het ook.

How you coach: practising for the test

In the block 5 test your child does a test dictation (without the category card), a verb test and a grammar test. Nothing is new: it is about the categories (such as the café word, the cadeau word and the material adjective with -en), the verbs, the word classes and the parts of the sentence. This card contains no test words.

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. First see which category or rule does not come automatically yet. Start there.
    AskWhich category or rule do you find difficult?
  2. Practise without the category card and without category numbers: first the rule in your head, then write.
    AskWhich category is this? What is the rule?
  3. A verb? First: is it a persoonsvorm (finite verb)? Then the verb rule: Persoonsvorm in de tegenwoordige tijd: ik-vorm+t, behalve bij ik en als jij of je erachter staat. (Finite verb in the present tense: the ‘I’ form + t, except with ik and when jij or je comes after it.)
    AskIs it a finite verb? What is the ik-vorm (the ‘I’ form)?
  4. Grammar: the word classes and the parts of the sentence (finite verb, werkwoordelijk gezegde, subject).
    AskWhich word class is this word? What is the finite verb?
  5. Read through your words and check that everything is filled in.
    AskIs everything still right? Did you skip anything?

Words in bold are the Dutch words your child uses in class.

Practise together at the table

  1. Category game: write caféwoord, cadeauwoord, stoffelijk bijvoeglijk naamwoord, theewoord and taxiwoord on slips of paper. Your child draws a slip, says the rule and thinks of a word.Ask: how do you check the word?
  2. Practice dictation without the book; read each word aloud once: de taugé · het niveau · de zilveren beker · de muntthee.Ask: which category or categories are in it?
  3. Verb rows: you say the verb (beloven · verbeteren · ontvangen), your child writes ik … · hij … · … jij?Ask: what is the ik-vorm?
