Zo coacht u: categorie en regel bij elk woord

Vandaag herhaalde de juf de categorieën waar het nog niet vanzelf gaat. Uw kind verwoordde woorden van links naar rechts, met klanknamen, en zei bij elk woord de categorie en de regel. Het dictee met zin schreef uw kind met de categoriekaart.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. Luister naar het woord en zeg het na.
    VraagWelk woord hoorde je? Zeg het nog eens.
  2. Leg je vinger op de categorie en denk aan de regel. Zeg de categorie en de regel in klanknamen.
    VraagWelke categorie zit erin? Wat is de regel?
  3. Schrijf het woord op. Een samenstelling? Zet een sterretje ervoor.
    VraagIs het een samenstelling?
  4. Kijk je woord na en zeg bij elk deel de categorie en de regel.
    VraagKlopt je woord? Wat is de regel bij dit deel?

Samen oefenen aan tafel

  1. Lees elk woord één keer voor; uw kind zegt het na en schrijft het op: het refrein · direct · technisch.Vraag: welke categorie(ën) zitten erin? Wat is de regel?
  2. Werkwoordenrij: u zegt het werkwoord (beloven · bezorgen · ontvangen), uw kind schrijft ik … · hij … · … jij?Vraag: wat is de ik-vorm? Waar komt een t?
  3. Lees voor: ‘De kleine panda eet bamboe in de dierentuin.’ Uw kind zet onder elk woord de woordsoort: lw, bnw, znw, ww, vz.Vraag: welk woord zegt iets over de panda?
  4. Kies een categorie die nog lastig is, zeg de regel en bedenk er drie woorden bij.Vraag: hoe controleer je het woord?

Tip van de juf

  • Gebruik thuis dezelfde woorden en regels als op school: ander materiaal, ook van internet, kan verwarring geven.
  • Lukt een woord echt niet? Doe het één keer voor, laat uw kind het nazeggen en dan zelf opschrijven.

How you coach: category and rule with every word

Today the teacher revised the categories that do not come automatically yet. Your child put words into words from left to right, using letter sounds, and said the category and the rule with every word. Your child wrote the dictation with a sentence using the categoriekaart (category card).

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. Listen to the word and say it back.
    AskWhich word did you hear? Say it again.
  2. Put your finger on the category and think of the rule. Say the category and the rule using letter sounds.
    AskWhich category is in it? What is the rule?
  3. Write the word down. A samenstelling (compound word)? Put a star in front of it.
    AskIs it a compound word?
  4. Check your word and say the category and the rule for each part.
    AskIs your word right? What is the rule for this part?

Words in bold are the Dutch words your child uses in class.

Practise together at the table

  1. Read each word aloud once; your child says it back and writes it down: het refrein · direct · technisch.Ask: which category or categories are in it? What is the rule?
  2. Verb rows: you say the verb (beloven · bezorgen · ontvangen), your child writes ik … · hij … · … jij?Ask: what is the ik-vorm (the ‘I’ form)? Where does a t go?
  3. Read aloud: ‘De kleine panda eet bamboe in de dierentuin.’ Your child writes the word class under each word: lw, bnw, znw, ww, vz.Ask: which word says something about the panda?
  4. Choose a category that is still difficult, say the rule and think of three words for it.Ask: how do you check the word?

  • Use the same words and rules at home as at school: other material, also from the internet, can confuse your child.
  • A word really not working? Show it once, let your child say it back, then write it alone.
