Zo coacht u: het theewoord in langere woorden

Uw kind oefende vandaag het theewoord in samenstellingen (theedoek) en in een klankgroep met een lange klank (thee). Nieuw bij de klankgroepen: bij een lange klank schrijft uw kind niet meer aa, ee, oo of uu, maar meteen een stukje van de klank: a, e, o of u.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. Zeg het woord en de categorie: Theewoord. Ik schrijf t h.
    VraagWelke categorie hoor je? Wat is de regel?
  2. Een samenstelling? ‘Samenstelling. 1e woord: thee. Theewoord. Ik schrijf t h. 2e woord: doek. Hakwoord. Ik schrijf het woord zoals ik het hoor.’
    VraagUit welke twee woorden bestaat het? Welke categorie heeft elk deel?
  3. Klankgroepen: ‘De klankgroep is thee. De laatste klank is ee. Dat is een lange klank. Ik neem een stukje van de ee weg.’
    VraagWat is de klankgroep? Is de laatste klank kort of lang? Wat doe je dan?
  4. Schrijf het woord op. Een samenstelling krijgt een sterretje ervoor.
    VraagIs het een samenstelling? Wat zet je er dan voor?

Samen oefenen aan tafel

  1. Lees voor: de theedoek · de thermosfles · de thuiswedstrijd. Uw kind zegt welk deel het theewoord is en schrijft het woord op.Vraag: uit welke twee woorden bestaat het?
  2. Maak klein en schrijf op: de theedoek → het … · de pleister → het …Vraag: wat is het grondwoord? Welke categorie hoort erbij?
  3. Bedenk samen drie kilowoorden en zeg: Kilowoord. Ik schrijf i.Vraag: welke klank hoor je, en welke letter schrijf je?
  4. Lees voor: ‘Heeft de dokter een stethoscoop?’ Uw kind schrijft de zin op en zoekt de persoonsvorm en het onderwerp.Zeg de zin in een andere tijd: welk woord verandert?

Tip van de juf

  • Nieuw: bij een lange klank schrijft uw kind niet eerst aa, ee, oo of uu op, maar meteen een stukje van de klank (a, e, o of u). Uw kind zegt erbij: ‘Ik neem een stukje van de ee weg.’ Gebruik dezelfde woorden als op school.
  • Zeg klanken, geen letternamen: zeg het geluid, niet de naam van de letter.
Antwoorden voor de ouder: 1: *theedoek (thee), *thermosfles (thermos), *thuiswedstrijd (thuis); regel: Theewoord. How you coach: the tea word in longer words

Today your child practised the theewoord (tea word) in compound words (theedoek) and in a sound group with a long sound (thee). New with the sound groups: with a long sound your child no longer writes aa, ee, oo or uu, but straight away a bit of the sound: a, e, o or u.

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. Say the word and the category: Theewoord. Ik schrijf t h. (Tea word. I write t h.)
    AskWhich category do you hear? What is the rule?
  2. A samenstelling (compound word)? ‘Samenstelling. 1e woord: thee. Theewoord. Ik schrijf t h. 2e woord: doek. Hakwoord. Ik schrijf het woord zoals ik het hoor.’
    AskWhich two words is it made of? Which category does each part have?
  3. Sound groups: ‘De klankgroep is thee. De laatste klank is ee. Dat is een lange klank. Ik neem een stukje van de ee weg.’ (The sound group is thee. The last sound is ee. That is a long sound. I take a bit of the ee away.)
    AskWhat is the sound group? Is the last sound short or long? What do you do then?
  4. Write the word down. A compound word gets a star in front of it.
    AskIs it a compound word? What do you put in front of it?

Words in bold are the Dutch words your child uses in class.

Practise together at the table

  1. Read aloud: de theedoek · de thermosfles · de thuiswedstrijd. Your child says which part is the tea word and writes the word down.Ask: which two words is it made of?
  2. Make it small and write it down: de theedoek → het … · de pleister → het …Ask: what is the base word? Which category goes with it?
  3. Think of three kilowoorden together (words where you hear ie but write i, like kilo) and say: Kilowoord. Ik schrijf i.Ask: which sound do you hear, and which letter do you write?
  4. Read aloud: ‘Heeft de dokter een stethoscoop?’ Your child writes the sentence down and finds the persoonsvorm (finite verb) and the onderwerp (subject).Say the sentence in a different tense: which word changes?
