Zo coacht u: oefenen voor de toets

In de toets van blok 3 laat uw kind zien wat het geleerd heeft: een toetsdictee (zonder categoriekaart), een werkwoordtoets en een grammaticatoets. Er komt niets nieuws: het gaat om de categorieën (zoals het langermaakwoord met -⁠heid en -⁠teit en het chefwoord), de persoonsvorm, de woordsoorten en de zinsdelen. Op deze kaart komen geen toetswoorden voor.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. Kijk eerst welke categorie of regel nog niet vanzelf gaat. Begin daar.
    VraagWelke categorie of regel vind je nog lastig?
  2. Oefen zonder kaart en zonder nummers: eerst de regel in je hoofd, dan schrijven. Een samenstelling krijgt een sterretje.

  3. Een werkwoord? Eerst: is het een persoonsvorm? Dan de werkwoordregel: Persoonsvorm in de tegenwoordige tijd: ik-vorm+t, behalve bij ik en als jij of je erachter staat.

  4. Grammatica: de woordsoorten en de zinsdelen (persoonsvorm, werkwoordelijk gezegde, onderwerp). Kijk ook naar hoofdletters en leestekens.

  5. Lees je toets na en kijk of alles is ingevuld.

Samen oefenen aan tafel

  1. Categoriespel: schrijf chef-, taxi-, kilo- en colawoord op briefjes. Uw kind trekt er één, zegt de regel en bedenkt een woord.Vraag: hoe controleer je het woord?
  2. Oefendictee zonder boek; lees elk woord één keer voor: de kwaliteit · de zichtbaarheid · de chimpansee · de excursie · de veiligheid.Vraag: welke categorie(ën) zitten erin?
  3. Werkwoordenrij: u zegt het werkwoord (helpen · tellen · wassen), uw kind schrijft ik … · hij … · … jij?Vraag: wat is de ik-vorm?
  4. Lees voor: ‘De kleine hond rent door het bos.’ Uw kind zet onder elk woord de woordsoort (lw, bnw, znw, ww, vz) en zoekt de persoonsvorm en het onderwerp.Vraag: welk woord zegt iets over de hond?

  • Vraag na de toets niet naar goede of foute antwoorden. Vraag liever: waar wil jij nog extra mee oefenen? Zo doet de juf het ook.

Block 3 test: how you can help

How you coach: practising for the test

In the block 3 test your child shows what they have learned: a test dictation (without the category card), a verb test and a grammar test. There is nothing new: it is about the categories (such as the langermaakwoord with -⁠heid and -⁠teit, and the chefwoord), the persoonsvorm (finite verb), the word classes and the sentence parts. This card contains no test words.

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. First look at which category or rule does not come automatically yet. Start there.
    AskWhich category or rule do you still find difficult?
  2. Practise without the card and without numbers: first the rule in your head, then write. A compound word gets a star.
    AskWhich category is this? What is the rule?
  3. A verb? First: is it a finite verb? Then the verb rule: Persoonsvorm in de tegenwoordige tijd: ik-vorm+t, behalve bij ik en als jij of je erachter staat. (Finite verb in the present tense: the ‘I’ form + t, except with ik and when jij or je comes after it.)
    AskIs it a finite verb? What is the ik-vorm (the ‘I’ form)?
  4. Grammar: the word classes and the sentence parts (persoonsvorm, werkwoordelijk gezegde, onderwerp). Also look at capital letters and punctuation.
    AskWhich word is the finite verb? What is the subject?
  5. Read your test through and check that everything is filled in.
    AskIs everything still right? Have you skipped anything?

Practise together at the table

  1. Category game: write chef-, taxi-, kilo- and colawoord on slips of paper. Your child picks one, says the rule and thinks of a word.Ask: how do you check the word?
  2. Practice dictation without a book; read each word aloud once: de kwaliteit · de zichtbaarheid · de chimpansee · de excursie · de veiligheid.Ask: which category (or categories) is in it?
