Zo coacht u: oefenen voor de toets

In de toets van blok 2 maakt uw kind een toetsdictee, een werkwoordtoets en een grammaticatoets. Er komt niets nieuws: de categorieën van groep 5 en van dit blok (taxiwoord, kilowoord met -ieel en -iaal, klankgroepenwoord met -ueel en -eaal), de werkwoorden, de woordsoorten en de zinsdelen.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. Kijk eerst welke categorie of regel nog niet vanzelf gaat. Begin daar.

  2. Oefen het dictee zoals op school: zeg het woord na, denk aan de categorie en de regel, schrijf het op en zet het nummer van de categorie erboven. Een samenstelling krijgt een sterretje.

  3. Werkwoorden: zeg de verleden tijd en het voltooid deelwoord, met de regel: Persoonsvorm in de verleden tijd van een sterk werkwoord. Ik denk aan de categoriekaart.

  4. Grammatica: de woordsoorten en de zinsdelen (persoonsvorm en onderwerp, met de vraagproef of de tijdproef). Lees je werk na.

Samen oefenen aan tafel

  1. Categoriespel: schrijf taxiwoord, kilowoord, klankgroepenwoord met -ueel, isch-woord, t(s)ie-woord en centwoord op briefjes. Uw kind trekt een briefje, zegt de regel en bedenkt een woord.Vraag: wat is de regel? Hoe controleer je het woord?
  2. Oefendictee zonder boek; lees elk woord één keer voor: extra · sociaal · punctueel.Vraag: welke categorie(ën) zitten erin?
  3. U noemt het werkwoord; uw kind zegt de verleden tijd (hij …) en het voltooid deelwoord (hij heeft/is …): kiezen · vliegen · lopen.Vraag: welke werkwoordregel hoort erbij?
  4. Lees voor: De kleine hond slaapt in zijn mand. Uw kind zoekt het bijvoeglijk naamwoord, de persoonsvorm en het onderwerp.Maak er een vraag van: welk woord komt vooraan?

  • Vraag na de toets niet naar goede of foute antwoorden. Vraag liever: waar wil jij nog extra mee oefenen? Zo doet de juf het ook.

How you coach: practising for the test

In the block 2 test your child does a test dictation, a verb test and a grammar test. There is nothing new: the categories from group 5 and from this block (taxi word, kilo word with -ieel and -iaal, sound-group word with -ueel and -eaal), the verbs, the word classes and the parts of the sentence.

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. First see which category or rule does not come automatically yet. Start there.
    AskWhich category or rule do you find difficult?
  2. Practise the dictation as at school: say the word back, think of the category and the rule, write it down and write the number of the category above it. A samenstelling (compound word) gets a star.

  3. Verbs: say the past tense and the past participle, with the rule: Persoonsvorm in de verleden tijd van een sterk werkwoord. Ik denk aan de categoriekaart. (Finite verb in the past tense of a strong verb: I think of the category card.)

  4. Grammar: the word classes and the parts of the sentence (persoonsvorm (finite verb) and onderwerp (subject), with the question test or the tense test). Read your work through.

Practise together at the table

  1. Category game: write taxiwoord, kilowoord, klankgroepenwoord met -ueel, isch-woord, t(s)ie-woord and centwoord on slips of paper. Your child draws a slip, says the rule and thinks of a word.Ask: what is the rule? How do you check the word?
  2. Practice dictation without the book; read each word aloud once: extra · sociaal · punctueel.Ask: which category or categories are in it?
  3. You say the verb; your child says the past tense (hij …) and the past participle (hij heeft/is …): kiezen · vliegen · lopen.Ask: which verb rule goes with it?
  4. Read aloud: De kleine hond slaapt in zijn mand. Your child finds the adjective, the finite verb and the subject.Make it a question: which word comes first?
