Uw kind oefende het kilowoord met -ieel en -iaal verder, samen met andere categorieën (t(s)ie-woord, centwoord, apostrof-s-woord, /ug/ en /luk/). Ook verwoordde uw kind een samenstelling, zoals taxiritten, en maakte het werkwoordstijden.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. Eén zegt de categorie, de ander noemt de regel en een voorbeeldwoord. Dan wisselen.
    VraagWat is de regel van deze categorie? Welk woord hoort erbij?
  2. Samenstelling: eerst het 1e woord met zijn categorie, dan het 2e woord. Bij taxi: Taxiwoord. Ik schrijf x. Kilowoord. Ik schrijf i.
    VraagWelke twee woorden zitten erin? Welke categorieën hoor je?
  3. Werkwoord: zeg de verleden tijd (ik …) en de voltooide tijd (ik heb … of ik ben …).
    VraagWat is de verleden tijd? En de voltooide tijd?

  1. Categorieën opfrissen. U noemt t(s)ie-woord, centwoord, apostrof-s-woord of achtervoegsel /ug/ en /luk/; uw kind noemt de regel en een woord erbij.Vraag: hoe controleer je het woord?
  2. Lees elk woord één keer voor; uw kind zegt het na en schrijft het op: de situatie · de Antilliaan · ’s zomers · onmogelijk.Vraag: welke categorie(ën) zitten erin? Wat is de regel?
  3. Lees voor: de koffiebeker. Uw kind verwoordt de samenstelling (1e woord, 2e woord) en schrijft het woord met een sterretje op.Vraag: welke twee woorden hoor je? Welke categorie heeft het 1e woord?
  4. U noemt het werkwoord; uw kind zegt de verleden tijd en de voltooide tijd: zwemmen · schrijven · kiezen.Vraag: welk hulpwerkwoord hoort bij de voltooide tijd?

Practising the kilo word and verb tenses

How you coach: categories, compound words and verb tenses

Your child practised the kilowoord (kilo word: you hear /ie/ but write i) with -ieel and -iaal further, together with other categories (t(s)ie word, cent word, apostrophe-s word, /ug/ and /luk/). Your child also talked through a samenstelling (compound word), such as taxiritten, and made verb tenses.

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. One says the category, the other says the rule and an example word. Then swap.
    AskWhat is the rule of this category? Which word goes with it?
  2. Compound word: first the 1st word with its category, then the 2nd word. For taxi: Taxiwoord. Ik schrijf x. (Taxi word: a word with an x; I write x.) Kilowoord. Ik schrijf i.
    AskWhich two words are in it? Which categories do you hear?
  3. Verb: say the past tense (ik …) and the perfect tense (ik heb … or ik ben …).
    AskWhat is the past tense? And the perfect tense?

  1. Revising categories. You name t(s)ie-woord, centwoord, apostrof-s-woord or achtervoegsel /ug/ and /luk/; your child says the rule and a word for it.Ask: how do you check the word?
