Grammatica: wat is nog lastig?

De juf koos welk onderdeel van de grammatica nog extra aandacht nodig heeft. Uw kind zocht in een zin bijvoorbeeld het rangtelwoord, het hulpwerkwoord en het voltooid deelwoord, bepaalde de woordsoorten en lette op de hoofdletters en leestekens.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. Lees de zin hardop. Onderstreep de woordsoorten en schrijf de afkorting eronder. Woorden zonder label laat je staan.
    VraagWelke woordsoort is dit woord?
  2. Zoek in de zin een bepaalde woordsoort, bijvoorbeeld het rangtelwoord (de eerste, de tweede) of het hulpwerkwoord (heeft, is).
    VraagWelk woord is het rangtelwoord? En het hulpwerkwoord?
  3. Bepaal de persoonsvorm met de vraagproef (welk woord komt vooraan?) of met de tijdproef (welk woord verandert?).

  4. Het werkwoordelijk gezegde is de persoonsvorm en alle andere werkwoorden. Het onderwerp vind je met: wie of wat + het werkwoordelijk gezegde?

  5. Let op de hoofdletters en de leestekens, ook de komma voor een voegwoord en het uitroepteken.

  1. Lees voor: ‘Mijn oma heeft de vierde puzzel gelegd.’ Uw kind noemt het rangtelwoord, het hulpwerkwoord en het voltooid deelwoord.Vraag: welk woord geeft een volgorde aan?
  2. Lees voor: ‘Mijn zus mag een hond kopen.’ Uw kind zoekt de pv, het wwg en het ond.Zet de zin in een andere tijd: welk woord verandert?
  3. Lees voor: ‘Opa juicht: “Kom snel kijken, want de zon schijnt!”’ Uw kind noemt de hoofdletters en de leestekens.Vraag: waarom staat er een komma?

  • Kies samen het onderdeel dat uw kind het lastigst vindt en oefen alleen dat. Vraag steeds: ‘Hoe weet je dat?’

How you coach: word classes and parts of the sentence, as at school

The teacher chose which part of grammar still needs extra attention. In a sentence your child found, for example, the ordinal number, the auxiliary verb and the past participle, named the word classes and paid attention to the capital letters and punctuation marks.

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. Read the sentence aloud. Underline the word classes and write the abbreviation underneath. Words without a label are left as they are.
    AskWhich word class is this word?
  2. Find one particular word class in the sentence, for example the rangtelwoord (ordinal number: de eerste, de tweede) or the hulpwerkwoord (auxiliary verb: heeft, is).
    AskWhich word is the ordinal number? And the auxiliary verb?
  3. Find the persoonsvorm (finite verb) with the vraagproef (question test: which word comes first?) or the tijdproef (tense test: which word changes?).
    AskWhat is the finite verb? How do you know?
  4. The werkwoordelijk gezegde (all the verbs in the sentence) is the finite verb and all the other verbs. You find the onderwerp (subject) with: who or what + the verbs?
    AskWhat are all the verbs? Who or what does it?
  5. Look at the capital letters and the punctuation marks, including the comma before a voegwoord (conjunction) and the exclamation mark.
