Zo coacht u: woordsoorten en zinsdelen zoals op school

Uw kind herhaalde vandaag de woordsoorten, de zinsdelen en de leestekens. Het oefendictee nam de juf af zoals een toetsdictee: rustig, zonder extra aanwijzingen, zodat zichtbaar is wat uw kind zelf al kan.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. Lees de zin hardop. Onderstreep de woordsoorten en schrijf de afkorting eronder. Woorden zonder label laat je staan.
    VraagWelke woordsoort is dit woord?
  2. Bepaal de persoonsvorm met de vraagproef (welk woord komt vooraan?) of met de tijdproef (welk woord verandert?).
    VraagWat is de persoonsvorm? Hoe weet je dat?
  3. Het werkwoordelijk gezegde is de persoonsvorm en alle andere werkwoorden. Het onderwerp vind je met: wie of wat + het werkwoordelijk gezegde?
    VraagWat is het werkwoordelijk gezegde? Wie of wat doet het?
  4. Sterk of zwak? Verandert de klank van het werkwoord (loopt – liep), dan is het sterk. Blijft de klank gelijk (maakt – gemaakt), dan is het zwak.

  5. Let op de hoofdletters en de leestekens: staan ze op de juiste plaats?

Samen oefenen aan tafel

  1. Lees voor: ‘Mijn vader heeft de eerste stenen trap gebouwd.’ Uw kind zet onder elk woord de woordsoort: znw, hww, lw, rtw, sbnw, vdw, en noemt of het werkwoord sterk of zwak is.Vraag: welk woord geeft een volgorde aan?
  2. Lees voor: ‘Mijn vader moet de ladder zoeken.’ Uw kind zoekt de pv, het wwg en het ond.Maak er een vraag van: welk woord komt vooraan?
  3. Lees voor: ‘Papa waarschuwt: “Schiet op, want de bus komt!”’ Uw kind noemt de hoofdletters en de leestekens.Vraag: waarom staat er een komma?

  • Doe het zoals de juf bij een toetsdictee: lees elke zin één keer voor, geef geen aanwijzingen tussendoor en kijk daarna samen na.

How you coach: word classes and parts of the sentence, as at school

Today your child revised the word classes, the parts of the sentence and the punctuation marks. The teacher gave the practice dictation like a test dictation: calmly, without extra hints, so that it is clear what your child can already do on their own.

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. Read the sentence aloud. Underline the word classes and write the abbreviation underneath. Words without a label are left as they are.
    AskWhich word class is this word?
  2. Find the persoonsvorm (finite verb) with the vraagproef (question test: which word comes first?) or the tijdproef (tense test: which word changes?).
    AskWhat is the finite verb? How do you know?
  3. The werkwoordelijk gezegde (all the verbs in the sentence) is the finite verb and all the other verbs. You find the onderwerp (subject) with: who or what + the verbs?
    AskWhat are all the verbs? Who or what does it?
  4. Strong or weak? If the sound of the verb changes (loopt – liep), it is sterk (strong). If the sound stays the same (maakt – gemaakt), it is zwak (weak).
    AskIs the verb strong or weak? How do you know?
  5. Look at the capital letters and the punctuation marks: are they in the right place?

Practise together at the table

  1. Read aloud: ‘Mijn vader heeft de eerste stenen trap gebouwd.’ Your child writes the word class under each word: znw (noun), hww (auxiliary verb), lw (article), rtw (ordinal number), sbnw (material adjective), vdw (past participle), and says whether the verb is strong or weak.Ask: which word tells you the order?
  2. Read aloud: ‘Mijn vader moet de ladder zoeken.’ Your child finds the pv, the wwg and the ond.Make it a question: which word comes first?
  3. Read aloud: ‘Papa waarschuwt: “Schiet op, want de bus komt!”’ Your child names the capital letters and the punctuation marks.Ask: why is there a comma?
