Zo coacht u: au of ou en het uw-rijtje

Uw kind herhaalde vandaag het uw-rijtje (een lijstje woorden dat in de klas hangt) en de woorden met au of ou. Je hoort geen verschil tussen au en ou, dus kijkt uw kind steeds eerst naar de au-plaat in de klas.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. Hoor je au/ou? Denk aan de au-plaat in de klas én de lijst eronder. Staat het woord erop: Staat op de au-plaat, dus atje-au. Staat het er niet op: Staat niet op de au-plaat, dus otje-ou.
    VraagStaat dit woord op de au-plaat? Wat is de regel?
  2. De laatste klank is au/ou. Dat is een tweetekenklank. Ik schrijf wat ik hoor.
    VraagWat is de laatste klank? Wat voor klank is dat?
  3. Hoort het woord bij het uw-rijtje? Zeg: Woord van het uw-rijtje. Ik schrijf u.
    VraagStaat dit woord op het uw-rijtje? Wat is de regel?
  4. Schrijf het woord op en zeg de categorie en de regel.

  1. Categorieën opfrissen. U noemt een categorie (kilowoord · centwoord · apostrof-s-woord · apostrof-s-meervoud); uw kind noemt de regel en een woord erbij.Vraag: hoe controleer je het woord?
  2. Uw kind noemt uit het hoofd vijf woorden van het uw-rijtje en zegt de regel erbij.Vraag: wat is de regel van het uw-rijtje?
  3. Uw kind noemt een woord van de au-plaat en een woord met ou en zegt bij allebei de regel.Vraag: staat het woord op de au-plaat? Wat schrijf je dan?

Tip van de juf

  • Het uw-rijtje en de au-plaat hangen in de klas. U hoeft de woorden niet te kennen: vraag uw kind ze uit het hoofd te noemen.
  • De woorden op de lijst onder de au-plaat horen er ook bij.

How you coach: au or ou and the uw list

Today your child revised the uw-rijtje (uw list: a short list of words that hangs in the classroom) and words with au or ou. You cannot hear the difference between au and ou, so your child always looks at the au-plaat (au poster) in the classroom first.

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. Do you hear au/ou? Think of the au poster in the classroom and the list underneath it. If the word is on it: Staat op de au-plaat, dus atje-au. If it is not: Staat niet op de au-plaat, dus otje-ou. (On the poster: au with an a. Not on it: ou with an o.)
    AskIs this word on the au poster? What is the rule?
  2. The last sound is au/ou. Dat is een tweetekenklank. Ik schrijf wat ik hoor. (That is a two-letter sound; I write what I hear.)

  3. Is the word on the uw list? Say: Woord van het uw-rijtje. Ik schrijf u. (I write u.)

  1. Revising categories. You name a category (kilowoord · centwoord · apostrof-s-woord · apostrof-s-meervoud); your child says the rule and a word for it.Ask: how do you check the word?
