Uw kind leerde vandaag kommagetallen hardop zeggen en opschrijven. Bij 6,25 zeg je 'zes komma vijfentwintig'; bij geld mag je ook 'zes euro vijfentwintig' zeggen, bij lengte 'zes meter vijfentwintig'. Let op de 0 na de komma: € 3,05 is drie euro vijf, niet drie euro vijftig.

  • Laat uw kind vertellen. U luistert en vraagt door.
  • Vraag, maar zeg het antwoord niet voor. Ook niet als u het weet.
  • Prijs de aanpak, niet alleen het antwoord.
  1. Zeg eerst het getal vóór de komma.
    VraagWelk getal staat er vóór de komma? Hoe zeg je dat?
  2. Zeg dan komma. Twee cijfers na de komma? Dan mag je bij geld ook euro zeggen, bij lengte meter.

Samen oefenen aan tafel

  1. Zeg hardop met 'komma': 5,07.Vraag: welk getal staat er direct na de komma? Zeg je dat ook?
  2. Schrijf op: negen euro en vijf cent.Vraag: hoeveel cijfers komen er bij geld na de komma? Teken eerst twee hokjes.
  3. Schrijf op: drie meter achtenveertig.Vraag: wat schrijf je vóór de komma, en wat erna? Vergeet de eenheid niet.
  4. Uit het dagelijks leven: bij de bakker staat op het prijskaartje € 1,08. Iemand zegt: 'Dat is één euro tachtig.' Klopt dat? Hoe zeg je het wel?Vraag: welk cijfer staat bij de tienden? Wat betekent dat voor het aantal cent?

Tip van de juf

  • Bij geld staan altijd twee cijfers na de komma. € 3,5 is drie euro vijftig; drie euro vijf is € 3,05. Laat het zien met munten: 5 cent is een klein muntje, 50 cent een grote.
  • Zeg de 0 hardop als je 'komma' zegt: 4,05 is vier komma nul vijf. Wie 'vier komma vijf' zegt, slaat de 0 over.
  • In de klas tekenen de kinderen eerst twee hokjes achter de komma en vullen die daarna in.
Antwoorden voor de ouder: 1: vijf komma nul zeven · 2: € 9,05 · 3: 3,48 m · 4: nee, € 1,08 is één euro acht (€ 1,80 is één euro tachtig).

How you coach: the school's plan 'Saying and writing kommagetallen'

Today your child learned to say decimal numbers aloud in Dutch and to write them down (a Dutch comma is an English decimal point). 6,25 is said as zes komma vijfentwintig (six comma twenty-five); with money you may also say zes euro vijfentwintig, with length zes meter vijfentwintig. Watch the 0 after the comma: € 3,05 is drie euro vijf (3 euros 5 cents), not drie euro vijftig.

  • Let your child explain. You listen and ask more.
  • Ask, but do not give the answer. Not even if you know it.
  • Praise the method, not just the answer.
  1. First say the number before the comma.
    AskWhich number is before the comma? How do you say it?
  2. Then say komma (comma). Two digits after the comma? Then with money you may also say euro, with length meter.

  3. Say the number after the comma. Are you saying it with komma and is there a 0 directly after the comma? Say it too: 4,05 = vier komma nul vijf. With euro you do not say it: vier euro vijf.

Tip from the teacher

  • With money there are always two digits after the comma. € 3,5 is drie euro vijftig (3 euros 50); drie euro vijf (3 euros 5) is € 3,05. Show it with coins: 5 cents is a small coin, 50 cents a big one.
  • Say the 0 aloud when you say 'komma': 4,05 is vier komma nul vijf. Saying 'vier komma vijf' skips the 0.
  • In class the children first draw two boxes after the comma and then fill them in.
